Kaze-Kai has been operating in Connecticut's Hartford County since the late 90's. For almost 30 years now, our focus has been the pursuit of self-defense and perfection.

The style that we specialize in has the saying of "Ikken Hissatsu," which roughly translates to "one and done."  In the pursuit of perfecting their self-defense practices, students are taught the means by which they can de-escalate high intensity situations and potentially avoid fighting altogether. If forced into a situation where self-defense is necessary, our students are fully capable of resolving it quickly and efficiently.

Our style entails needing as few strikes as possible and considers how a well executed block can work just as well as an attack. When we block an attack, we strike their attack, because in Shotokan, a strong enough block can be an effective strike.

"Great instruction, great people. Really shows the heart of what Karate stands for. I’ve known Mr. Morrison for awhile now, trained with him in seminars and competed against his students always the most respectful and humble, letting their technique show more than their knowledge."

Andrew Evans, MA
